NSS- Prathamika Pathshaala Painting
On 15th of Feb 2020, Animaster Animation Degree College NSS Unit has organised activity with Campus 2 Community (C2C). It was an initiative by the college to contribute to the cause of community-engaged learning.
Campus 2 community, is an initiative started back in 2015 which aimed at student engagement at the community level.
The main objective or aim of the event was to restore the government school premises which are located in rural areas across Karnataka by replenishing the premises of the school with beautiful artworks and enhance the ambiance with colors and positivity for the students.
Location: Government Lower Primary School, Beeramgala, Karnataka.
The team started from the college campus at around 7.30 A.M. The college management has organized a bus to make the travel easy for the students and faculty. The location was 82km from the college.
As the NSS team reached the location, they were welcomed by Mr. Gowda, Volunteers C2C. He showed the team around the compound that looked very dull and gloomy and also the plan which will be executed with the help of the NSS team was discussed.
The students were provided for breakfast after the introduction.
Later the students were divided into 4 groups. Group 1&2 were in charge of painting the classrooms and group 3&4 were in charge of painting the compound. ·
Mr. Pratyush, Faculty of Animaster, allotted the work to all 4 groups with the reference PDF provided by C2C (campus 2 community).
The day was divided into 3 phases.
In the first phase, the students started by outlining the walls using charcoal and pencils. They made outlines of beautiful artworks in the wall which include different animated characters.
In the second phase, the students started filling colors in the wall which instantly bought life in the artworks. The surroundings looked beautiful with the colors and characters.
At around 2.30 P.M the team had some warm and tasty lunch which was provided by the school management.
In the third phase, the students and the staff worked on adding details into the artworks to make it appear more realistic. Thus a vivid mix of colors made the flavorless walls of a school into life.
Later around 5:00 P.M, C2C volunteer Mr. Varun and Mr. Nagendra visited the camp and went around the campus having a look at the artworks. They appreciated our students for their contribution and also had a request to draw an artwork on the exterior wall of the school campus which reflects their logo and also NSS tree logo.
Our energetic volunteers went back to work and completed the entire assigned task by 6.30 P.M.
The team started back for Bangalore and reached at around 9.30 P.M.
Thus another wonderful activity by NSS Unit comes to an end. We thank all the students who took part in making the activity successful with their amazing artworks.
Special thanks to Mr. Pratyush Gupta & Mr. Y D Pavan Kumar for supporting such a great cause and implementing the same.
