SUMMARY:Industrial Visit and Educational Tour
DESCRIPTION:Inter Design Industrial Visit and Educational Tour\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOn 29th February 2020\, Top Animation Design Degree College organized an industrial visit and educational tour to : \n\n\n\n\n1) Kokkarebellur\, Mandya- Bird Sanctuary. \n2) Channapatna- Wooden Toy Factory. \n3) Jana Pada Loka\, Ramanagara- Folk culture world of Karnataka. \n\n\n\n\nObjective:\n\n\n\n\nThe main objective of an industrial visit is to provide us an insight regarding the internal working of companies. We understand that theoretical knowledge is not enough for a successful professional career. With an aim to go beyond academics\, industrial visit provides students a practical perspective of the workplace. Also\, educational tours for students provide them with an opportunity to collaborate with teachers and integrate new perspectives with informal environments to enhance learning initiatives. Among the many educational tour benefits\, skill development is the most important. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nKokkarebellur\, Mandya\n\n\n\n\n\n\nKokkarebellur is a village in Maddur taluk of Mandya district of Karnataka\, India. The uniqueness in Kokkarebellur is the long-established bonding between the spot-billed pelicans and the villagers who have adopted this bird as their heritage since they consider the birds as harbingers of good luck and prosperity to the village. This village is famous for having large colonies of painted storks and spot-billed pelicans nesting in the trees of the village. \nThe birds arrive after every monsoon to make their nest and lay eggs from October to November. As summer approaches by May\, they again re-migrate. \nThe Government is in charge of taking care and also protecting the migratory birds. \nWhen we asked a local about the birds\, he says “I have seen these birds since my childhood\, once out of curiosity I asked my father as to when these birds were coming. My father laughed and told me he has also seen them coming here from his childhood.” \nThe Government also compensates the villagers with some amount of money for each tree that is used by the birds for nesting. There is also a rescue center for birds. People meditate for the birds which got hurt and it also has some arrangements made for the birds to hatch their eyes. \nThe students of Animaster spoke to the villagers to understand the concept of migration which is opted by the birds. They have understood that there is a bond between the birds and the humans and of all the simplicity of the life of every villager in that village who has dedicated their lives to protect the migratory birds. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n2. ChannaPatna\n\n\n\n\nChannapatana is a city and taluk headquarter in Ramanagara District\, Karnataka\, India. It is famous for a particular form of wooden toys that are manufactured in the town of Channapatna. This traditional craft is protected as a geographical indication (GI) under the World Trade Organization\, administered by the Government of Karnataka. \nAs a result of the popularity of these toys\, Channapatna is known as Gombegala Ooru (toy-town) of Karnataka. \nThe students interact with workers to know the process of making wooden toys. \nThe manufacturing stages include procuring the wood\, seasoning and cutting the wood into the desired shapes. After the wood is given its desired shape\, carving it into a toy is the very next step. Then applying the colors and finally polishing the finished product. \nOn interacting with the workers we came to know the difficulties they face in managing the materials and how tough it is for them to get orders. They also spoke about the marketing of the toys which is going down due to the competitive world. \nWe also had a conversation with Mr. Kouser Pasha\, the Owner of Toy factory. He tells us about the tough time these handmade toys market is facing due to the availability of Chinese toys in the market. He has also created a light wooden device for throat and tongue cancer patients\, who have lost their voice. \nThe students understood the concept of toy making in small scale industries and the process of making these beautiful toys with minimal design and limited colors. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n Janapada Loka\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJanapada Loka or “Folk world” or “Folk-culture World” is a folk museum that has an exclusive display of the village folk arts of Karnataka. The Janapada Loka campus consists of a decorated gate\, road with display of mannequins of folk artists\, symbols of traditional tribal worship\, Lokamatha Mandira\, Loka Mahal\, Chitra Kuteera\, Janapada Library\, Shilamala\, Ayagaramala\, puppet theater and Loka Sarovara and also folk arts museum\, which displays large number of artifacts of the folk culture\, along with different types of musical instruments\, tools used in agriculture and farming. \nThe students enjoyed the tour\, they learned about the folk art of Karnataka and saw traditional houses\, ancient stone sculptures. The display of mannequins of folk artists gave them an insight into how hard the artists have worked to reach such skills. They understood the rural life of the people. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOver all this industrial visit and educational tour was a great learning experience for the students of Animaster as well as the faculties who were in charge. \nWe thank all the students for their active participation and also Mr. Pratyush\, Mr. Jagadhish and Mr. Bikramjit for organising such a great on field experience.

SUMMARY:Organ Donation Awareness Program
DESCRIPTION:Organ Donation Awareness Program\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOn the 28th of February 2020\, Animaster College YRC Unit organized the Organ Donation Awareness Program to bring awareness to the community. The event was organized at the College Auditorium. \nThe program started with a welcome speech by Mr. Bikramjith\, Faculty of Animaster College of Animation & Design. \nHe welcomed the Guests of honor and the program began. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe guest of honor of the event was: \n\nMr. Vejay Mehta\, an Entrepreneur\, Funds Raiser\, Organ Donation Awareness Team Head\, Ranka Jain Foundation.\nMr. Niraj\, Chartered accountant\, Organ Donation Awareness Team Head.\n\n\nMs. Veena Pratap\, Managing Trustee\, Pixel Shastra trust\, Bengaluru has also graced the event with her presence.\nThe program continued with a speech by our dear principal Dr. Srinarahari M. H. He spoke a few words for the guest and also for the cause that we all have gathered here.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOutcome:\nThe students have understood the use of different angles and perspectives to stand out from their photography. They are also able to shoot the subject in their natural context for more powerful images. \nThis workshop has also made them able to study the subjects that will lead to more photo ideas. Now they are also able to separate the subject from the background as nature photos usually feature a subject such as a plant\, animal or flower. This means that one needs to separate that subject from the background of the frame. One has to judge the placement of the elements in the frame and make a few adjustments. Understanding the distance between the foreground and background is important. This will help separate them in the shot. \nThe goal of the workshop was successfully achieved and the photographs by the students reveal this. \nWe thank all the students for their participation and Mr. Dayanand for arranging such a learning experience for them. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe stage was given to Mr. Vejay Mehta. He started the presentation by explaining what the aim of organ donation is\, its types\, and advantages and also he spoke about cases related to brain death. He says\, “Organ donation is an opportunity to help others.” \nHe also told us how we can promote the awareness of organ donation etc. He gave a brief explanation about organ transplantation\, legal & traditional issues\, etc. He also stated that a single organ donor can save up to eight lives. By also donating tissues and eyes\, the same donor can improve up to 50 lives. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThen the stage was given to Mr. Niraj. He also explained about Organ Donation and shared his life experience. He addressed the students not to get addicted to any drugs\, drinks\, or smoke. \nHe encouraged the students to adopt good habits and also focus on their health by doing a little bit of exercise or yoga every day for physical and mental peace. \nHe gave examples of situations while explaining the students to work towards social service. He also spoke of a survey in India which states that\, every year 4 lakh people die waiting for a transplant while the others wait for a match. Approx. 2 lakh people wait for kidney transplant\, but only 10\,000 get one. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEvery Organ Donation Awareness event is a powerful way for the community to do its part for a cause. The only help we can do is by promoting organ donation. It is a way for the community to honor survivors\, raise awareness and help the present generation to understand what the following contributions they can make. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe students were amazed and also surprised by the need for the organs in India. There were many students who were unknown with the fact like skin can also be donated\, and cornea is a tissue. They have also cleared some myths like entire eyeball will be removed during eye donation and organ donation is against religion. \nThis awareness program aims to motivate normal human beings to pledge to donate organs after death\, and to spread awareness about the importance of organ donation. The organ donor can play a big role in saving others’ lives. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLater after the presentation\, the Ranka Jain Foundation team distributed brochures to all the students which listed organ donation awareness. \nMs. Veena Pratap\, Managing Trustee\, Pixel Shastra Trust\, Bengaluru honored the Guest with green plants and also addressed the students. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe event came to an end with a vote of thanks by YRC Programme Officer Mr. Dhanaraja. S. and with watering of the green plants. \nWe thank all the students who attended the event and special thanks to Mr. Dhanaraja. S for organizing such an informative events. \nConclusion: Make a difference. Sign up to become an organ donor. It is an easy way to make a lasting and worthwhile impact on the world after one is gone. Becoming a donor is a hugely positive choice and allows your legacy to live on through another. \n\nJoin the cause.\nBe an organ donor.\n“Wake up and donate”

It was an initiative by the college to contribute to the cause of community-engaged learning. \n\n\n\n\nCampus 2 community\, is an initiative started back in 2015 which aimed at student engagement at the community level. \nThe main objective or aim of the event was to restore the government school premises which are located in rural areas across Karnataka by replenishing the premises of the school with beautiful artworks and enhance the ambiance with colors and positivity for the students. \nLocation: Government Lower Primary School\, Beeramgala\, Karnataka. \nThe team started from the college campus at around 7.30 A.M. The college management has organized a bus to make the travel easy for the students and faculty. The location was 82km from the college. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAs the NSS team reached the location\, they were welcomed by Mr. Gowda\, Volunteers C2C. He showed the team around the compound that looked very dull and gloomy and also the plan which will be executed with the help of the NSS team was discussed. \nThe students were provided for breakfast after the introduction. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLater the students were divided into 4 groups. Group 1&2 were in charge of painting the classrooms and group 3&4 were in charge of painting the compound. · \nMr. Pratyush\, Faculty of Animaster\, allotted the work to all 4 groups with the reference PDF provided by C2C (campus 2 community). \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe day was divided into 3 phases. \nIn the first phase\, the students started by outlining the walls using charcoal and pencils. They made outlines of beautiful artworks in the wall which include different animated characters. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIn the second phase\, the students started filling colors in the wall which instantly bought life in the artworks. The surroundings looked beautiful with the colors and characters. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAt around 2.30 P.M the team had some warm and tasty lunch which was provided by the school management. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIn the third phase\, the students and the staff worked on adding details into the artworks to make it appear more realistic. Thus a vivid mix of colors made the flavorless walls of a school into life. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLater around 5:00 P.M\, C2C volunteer Mr. Varun and Mr. Nagendra visited the camp and went around the campus having a look at the artworks. They appreciated our students for their contribution and also had a  request to draw an artwork on the exterior wall of the school campus which reflects their logo and  also NSS tree logo. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOur energetic volunteers went back to work and completed the entire assigned task by 6.30 P.M. \nThe team started back for Bangalore and reached at around 9.30 P.M. \nThus another wonderful activity by NSS Unit comes to an end. We thank all the students who took part in making the activity successful with their amazing artworks. \nSpecial thanks to Mr. Pratyush Gupta & Mr. Y D Pavan Kumar for supporting such a great cause and implementing the same. \n\n\n

SUMMARY:Careers in the Video Game Industry
DESCRIPTION:On the 5th of February 2020\, Animaster College of Animation and Design hosted a full-day seminar on “Careers in the Video Game Industry”. \nKey speaker: Mr. Ajith Ram\, Expert in Game Production and Management. \n\nSessions: \n\nIntroduction to the Video Game Industry.\nCareer in the video game industry.\n\n\n\n\n\nObjective: The main purpose or objective of the seminar was to shed light on the variant prospects in the gaming industry. \nThe event started with a speech by our dear principal Dr. Srinarahari M H. He welcomed the guest and handed over the stage to him. \n\nMr. Ajith Ram started by introducing himself and how after studying in various fields finally he could find out his passion for gaming. He delightfully explained how he has spent 28 years serving the gaming industry. \nHe proclaimed the vast prospects and the market size of the business to expand more in the coming years. Estimated to be worth $ 150 billion globally and become the largest segment within the entertainment industry; standalone\, the gaming industry is growing exponentially. The Indian gaming industry is currently valued at over $300 million or approximately Rs. 2000 Crores. \nSure most of us loved playing games\, but have we ever considered making them? \nMr. Ajith speaks about the evolution of graphics\, the future of consoles and the latest ESports trend. He also addressed the students on the future of PC gaming\, as it is the strongest platform for games. \nHe also speaks about the cons of the game industry. Surprisingly there are over 500 games released per day which also states that an average of 20 games per hour is going live. He explains why there is a shortage of talent that could not make their way out in the gaming industry. There are people who have studied computer science or mechanical engineering but still couldn’t match the skills required for the field because the quality of education did not really enhance the knowledge which the gaming industry demands. He explains the job possibilities in the field\, stating that Bangalore itself has 70 companies hiring people for game development. \nMr. Ajith also elaborates on the students about BVA (British Videogame Academy) and how the course can help them achieve a future in the gaming industry. He speaks about the semester wise classification of the courses. In the 4th semester\, the students will get to work with an in-house team that will give them real-time experience in the field. \nHe ends the seminar with little advice for the students saying to follow their passion and practice is what will make them perfect. \nThe seminar clearly explains that if one is artistic\, creative and innovative\, and has a passion for games\, a career in the game could be the perfect career choice. Knowledge of the software used in developing or designing games is a prerequisite. In addition to this\, knowing the fundamentals or basic programming and being familiar with 3D modeling software\, is an added advantage. \nThese days computer and video game development/designing is a fast-rising entertainment field\, that offers a lot both professionally and creatively. Gaming now is one of the most preferred career choices for a vast number of talented young students from diverse backgrounds. \nThis also indicates that the future of the gaming industry in India is bright and it is the best time to build a career in this industry! \n\n  \n

SUMMARY:Capturing the emotions in image
DESCRIPTION:Topic: “Capturing the emotions in IMAGE” \nLocation: HEBBAL Market surroundings\, and near Police Station and in and around Campus. \nObjective: To enhance the knowledge of the students regarding the subject Light and Camera. \n\n\n\n\nSubject: LIGHTS and CAMERA \nA workshop was conducted on the topic “Capturing the emotions in IMAGE” by the faculties of Animaster College of Animation and Design along with the students of BCU Sem 6 on the 25th of January 2020 (Saturday). \nThe main objective was to learn and caption real emotions on the street. The faculties guided the student to not direct the subjects. Doing so can prevent them from getting their real emotions on camera\, as they will be too focused on holding a pose that may or may not come naturally to them. The students were also told to be mindful of when attempting to capture authentic emotions in the photos as it is to be on the lookout for possible instances wherein they will be able to catch the subjects in their most unguarded form. \n\n\n\n\nThe faculties mentored the students by telling them to focus on the details. “The devil is in the details”—or so they say. In photography\, this could not be truer. Focusing on the right details can actually help convey emotions in the photos. \nAn example in the attached images below they have tried to capture the emotion of a cat after they tossed hi\, then after it been transferred to an unknown person\, and also after it’s been showcased with unknown actions and different elements. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSimilarly\, they tried to capture the emotions of a frustrated police officer who was tired of explaining an old man w.r.t the address. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThey also captured the emotions of electricians who were in a hurry of fixing a pole with damaged transformers. And that followed with Vegetable Vendor\, Lady waiting for the bus\, satisfied smile\, lonely dog\, and so on. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe students were really happy with the workshop as they could get a practical scenario about the subject they are studying. They say they want events as such to happen on a regular basis and they would love to participate. \nThus a wonderful workshop comes to an end with lots of learning experience for the students and these lovely pictures are the outcome. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThus a wonderful workshop comes to an end with lots of learning experience for the students and these lovely pictures are the outcome.
