Brief Description of the semester:
This semester provides a brief introduction to Prehistoric activities in different parts of the world. Here students are given exposure to the evolving cultures, ritualistic practices, and artistic activities. The semester briefs about the environment, tools, and other materials, which were parts of their evolving life. The course introduces ways of seeing in the visual world and analyzing visual experiences and visual data. The course introduces novel methods to understand the meaning and interpretations of visual images. The course provides an end number of examples and references to know the ways of seeing from the simple to a complex world. The course also provides an opportunity to learn from the interdisciplinary domains. This course introduces the basic elements and principles of Art and Design topics required for a student at the entry-level. The courseallowsthe student to look at the subject from a broader perspective and provide a solid theoretical base for the specialization program. Examples for relevant Design problems are given to understand and to find out the solutions. Both 2 dimensional and 3-dimensional design processes are addressed in this course. The course introduces the questioning since the question is the basis for information or knowledge acquiring. Inquiry for the fundamental details will bring revelation. Semester wise overview
In semester two of the foundation studies, students will develop knowledge to understand and interpret the Literature, Art and Architecture and the impact of the visual culture on individual perception. This will help students to explore the visual meaning and interpret it in their own creative work. They will also get guidance on The Physics of Color, Color Systems, Theory of Color, Theories of Successive and Simultaneous Contrast. Additive and Subtractive colours. Special attention will be given on drawing light and shadow on objects and representation of the impact of light on simple forms and objects – change in mood, surface quality, density, drama, and impact. Also, drawing from Nature will be taught.
Brief Description of the semester:
This semester introduces the important civilizations marked in history. In this course, Literature, Philosophy, and religion are elaborately discussed Course briefs the characteristic features of Art, design, and culture practiced during this period. The course also explains in detail, about the materials used and the Architecture designs and motives, Art panels, etc. Communication systems and lifestyles developed by the community are especially focused. This course helps students to develop a systematic approach in understanding the visual culture across hi-cultures and subcultures. The course thematically reveals how the world is filled with, printed images in books, magazines, posters, advertisements, cut-outs, photographs, cinema, and Television, etc. The course also conducts inquiry about how this visual world influences and creates an impact on our sensibilities. In this course history of Colours from a different period is introduced. The course introduces a practical application of color theories, focusing on the interaction and relativity of color. This course aims to introduce the fundamentals of Design ideas and application in the advanced courses in Product Design, Interior Design, Furniture Design, and Textile Design, etc. The course allows the students to do research and identify the problems with their immediate surroundings and learn to solve the problems with the help of the Guide.

You will develop knowledge of motion for using computers and technology to their full potential for the creation of animation. This will add to understanding the concept of Basic Rigging. It will also lay stress on artistic and aesthetic creativity, intending to push your skills and imaginative power and to familiarize students with acting, developing a different kind of personality of characters. And to explore character rigging for animation, expressions and particle manipulation.
Brief Description of the semester:
The subject of Classical Animation aims to impart knowledge of Classical Animation and its principles as foundation to the course and enables the students to learn and understand the history and evolution of Animation as a medium of communication. The course also lays a strong foundation for Animation and provides fundamental knowledge in principle. This semester will make a good understanding of the software. And create a sense of observation, timing, and motion through the real art of animation to create strong believable animation pieces. A good understanding of motion is an important foundation for using computers and technology to their full potential for the creation of animation. And understanding the concept of Basic Rigging. This course also emphasizes artistic and aesthetic creativity, intending to push the boundaries of the imagination and to familiarize students with acting, developing a different kind of personality of characters. Explore the Art of Presentation -Editing Devices – Transitions, Matches – Various visual matches and match on action, Duration – Rhythm, Styles. Glide into Continuity in visual narration -Montage-Elliptical & Other visual devises in narration Sound and Cinema. Learn the technical aspects of Film Criticism- Sound in Cinema: Sound editing, Diegetic & non-diegetic, Direct & non-simultaneous sound –Off screen- on-screen sound, Sound perspective Voiceover, Sound analysis, and many more.
Brief Description of the semester:
The purpose of this semester is to provide the students with training methodologies and specific industry skills that will assist them in developing creative ideas into digital art with an emphasis on image manipulation, matte painting, and fundamental digital 2D animation. This course will introduce advanced techniques in Animation. Introduces Scene planning, methods, and Action analysis, etc. The objective of the Lesson- 3D animation II, is to explore the Mechanics of Motion and introducing to Animation Tools and implementing the Animation Principles in 3D Space. Now landing into the advanced stage of the course, this semester aims you to learn Theatrics and Histrionics Method Acting Mime and Pantomimes Acting in the silent era Facial Expression and Expressions. It also strengthens your understanding of the 3 Dimensions, Isometric & Orthographic projection, 3D space, the difference between 2D & 3D and XYZ coordinates. Be an expert on the subject, studying Bones and Joints Skin, Binding Kinematics (IK & FK), Requirements for a clean Model, Clean UVs. Binding – Smooth Binding. Next move forward to the Concept of a single cluster. Impart skills in writing stories/ script and visualization for Animation Films, Scriptwriting, Character visualization and storyboarding.

This semester will provide knowledge in various styles and expressions in acting. To impart knowledge in Acting theories and principles as well as historical background.The course will examine, analyze, study, and discuss how design can be understood, described, and developed as a process of inquiry, thought, and action. The course will critically explore how to become a more skilled and successful designer and what it takes to develop both design inquiry, design thinking, and design action. The course will allow students to experiment with the design process, by studying and analyzing design behavior, by reflecting on design experiences, and by conducting intellectual discussions. The overall purpose of the course is to support each student to establish a personal, reflective, and examined intellectual position in relation to design as a process of inquiry, thought, and action.

This semester provides you with training methodologies and specific industry skills that will assist them in understanding the concepts of narrative and non-narrative film editing. You also know in-depth the tools used for film editing. Get familiar with the history and concepts used in film editing, Create Montages and short film editing based on genres. Understand the workflow used to edit using digital tools, exporting video output to various media. Execute the prototypes related to Character animation, Character acting, Character interaction, etc. There are intricate topics like Grouping and Parenting, Creating Biped Character joint structure, Creating Quadruped Character joint structure, Cleaning up the rig and scene file Creating and attaching controllers to the rig Skinning and Rigging Biped and Quadruped Characters which controls the foundation and advanced processes and thereby makes you a master of the subject.

Art Appreciation is a survey of Art, Architecture, Design, from the historical perspective to contemporary and traditional visual art themes. Emphasis is on current problems in communication through painting, sculpture, photography, film, and architecture.To discuss the role of Art in society, Social factors influencing various visual forms. Important Artists, Movements that break the tradition and give rise to a new approach and vision. The purpose of this course is to make students understand the detailed process of 3D modeling and texturing involved in Animation film making. This course will impart the skills of conceptualizing and designing characters from the story. To provide knowledge and information to students for designing the layouts in color. The objective of this semester is also to implement lighting and camera in the virtual world with reference to the real world.

Completing the previous semesters, you now step into the most powerful section of the course. The semester begins with Plan and pitches the animation project, strategies related to interacting with the Client, estimating the production cost, manage the studio, etc. You will gather skills to create Hyper-realistic Character Modeling and Texturing, digital sculpting. You would be able to describe how to paint with a 3D Tool, Create assets for gaming, and so on.
Brief Description of the semester:
This semester will brief about the various stages involved in the Animation production process from project concept to projection realization. The course introduces detailed planning, client interaction, Project pitching, teamwork. Introduces Administrative and managerial skills required in the Animation studio. Students are expected to take up an independent study and production of a Short Animated Film. The film may be 2 – 5 minutes in duration. The project may be done independently or in a group not larger than 4-5 members. The project must be well researched with adequate time spent on information collection, thorough documentation of all the sources with appropriate credits provided for the information from books, websites, people, organizations, etc.

The objective of providing an internship to the students is to provide them exposure to the outside world on which their confidence builds. In this semester students will be working on a live project in a Design Studio environment / an Organization similar to that with hands-on experience in Research and Product development. Part II of the project will consist of all Post-production for the short animated degree film.
